If you were to look at my blog posts for the month of October, they are all over the place. There are weeks where I’ve posted every day or on my schedule, but there are other weeks where I haven’t posted at all. Trust me, it’s not that I don’t love writing The Hat Logic. It brings me such a joy that I can’t even put into words. I love what I do, but right now, schooling comes in and kicks me in the butt. It’s not just my academics, but it is many different aspects of my life…my friends, my academics, my life in general. This post almost goes hand in hand with the post I wrote at the beginning of the month, Knowing Your Worth, where I touch on the little things that I’ve learned about knowing how much I’m worth.
Blogging is not all fun and games. There are emails, edits, partnerships, networking, etc. If you had asked me 2 years ago, a year after starting The Hat Logic, while it was still known as The Style Selections, I probably would say something completely different. At that point, I was in high school and extremely narrow-minded. The world wasn’t my oyster yet, like it is now. I had used the blog to find myself in a tough time with my school then, and that’s what I’m planning to do now.

My life is my life, simple as that. I’m not going to change who I am to please people, because at the end of the day, that’s not representative of myself and the brand I want to create.I love who I am and although, some people may overlook me and my site, I keep doing this because I love what I do. I’m going to laugh and play around with the code on my site to make it better. I’m going to mess up, but I’m learning. Life is a learning curve and whether you keep up with the curve or fall behind is your choice. [tweetthis] My life is my life, simple as that. For me, I take one month a year to try and find myself in all aspects of my life. Whether it’s finding out that I really hate studying economics and don’t want to complete a business degree at school or that there are people in my life who are not beneficial to making me happy and stress free. If you want to stress me out, you can leave. If you want to pressure me to be someone that is not myself, you can leave. I love what I create and I know that I’m happy with the content that I create because it is representative of who I truly am. I don’t work with brands that I don’t enjoy or whose products I don’t vibe with. You know the reason I go work with SACO every time I’m in London? Because I stayed with them BEFORE I worked with them, just for a night, but I stayed with them to see how they treated me before they knew I was a writer. I knew they were a quality company and that is really the reason why I love working with them, because I trust them. I am willing to put my name and brand on the line because I know they’re a quality company that I trust.
Finding yourself isn’t an easy task. Trust me. I’ve done a lot and learned a lot about myself, the people, and world around me in the last 3 years, but trust me…you find out the most about yourself during troubling times, so trust your instincts and love yourself. Find out who you truly want to be because at the end of the day, you’ll be a happier person for it.
